Supporting research in emergency medicineand carrying out HEMS-related development projects

Research and development

FinnHEMS Research and Development Unit was established in 2015 for the purpose of coordinating research in emergency medicine as well as carrying out HEMS-related development projects.

The aim of FinnHEMS R&D Unit is thus primarily to coordinate and organize research in the field of emergency medicine in cooperation with the Finnish university hospital districts, thereby also supporting the emergency centres in their duty of research. In addition, the Unit has a strong interest in international cooperation. All activities aim at a common goal: improving the quality and equality of HEMS and EMS both nationally as well as internationally.

The work of the R&D Unit is steered by FinnHEMS’ board. The FinnHEMS group of EM experts is engaged in its activities too.

The three major areas of activities:

  1. EM research
  2. HEMS-related development projects
  3. Training and consulting
